Constanza Ruiz Campusano, Chilean dancer and performer based in Cologne. With a sociological background and deeply intrigued by the transformative potential of dance within the present, her artistic journey bridges cultural boundaries, explores human connections, and celebrates life through dance.
Constanza javiera holds degrees in Sociology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Contemporary Dance from Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. At the end of their studies, Constanza got the CROSSOVER grant (2018) which took her to the École des Sables in Senegal..
In 2018 she got the “Sprungbrett <> Tanz Recherche” scholarship and with Amanda Romero and Greta Salgado co-founded the .DENCUENTRO tanzkollektiv; performing their research between Bolivia and Germany during the Festival tanz nrw 19. With .DENCUENTRO tanzkollektiv she created the dance piece “SINP’A” (2020) co-produced by tanzhaus nrw. Inspired by the Tinku fight-ritual and dance in Bolivia, SINP’A moves in the tension field between cooperation and opposition, merging different identities and opening up the physical confrontation as another option to celebrate life. After this rich research and piece .DENCUENTRO creates the digital- lecture performance “SINP’A_docu” (2021) in co-production with Theater im Ballsaal, Bonn. “SINP’A_docu ” opens up the research behind SINP’A, in an audiovisual and performative dialog, bringing together people from different cultures and contexts. 
Parallel to her work with the collective, and working together with Maria Mercedes Flores, she got the INKUBATOR residency in tanzfaktur, creating “ON:Joy” (2019) which has been performed recently in the Festival tanz nrw 23 with Thea Soti as sound artist. 
In addition to her own creations, as performer and collaborator Constanza has worked with Benedetta Reuter “Im Riesen Gras” Reut Shemesh (GOLA #4) 2021, María Flores (What, when, where are we) 2022, Bianca Mendoça (LandScaping 4, research) 2021, Özlem Alkis (Sountracking the Stage) 2020, Bouchra Ouizguen (CORBEAUX), 2018,  Michelle Murray (ATLAS, Studies #1#6 & #8) 2017. Constanza was leading actress in the film “A los Cuatro Vientos” (D: Marcela Vanegas Cárdenas, 2019), nominated at different Festivals as the Max Ophüls Prize and the First Steps Award (et al.).
